Benoit Giroussens, Osoyoos Larose
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20
Benoit Giroussens is a French winemaker and vineyard manager at Osoyoos Larose Vineyards who has successfully brought his education of Bordeaux style blends to BC. He holds his National Diploma of Oenology from Bordeaux, France and developed his knowledge in winemaking working at the famous Chateaux Carbonnieux and Chateaux Margaux. In working closely with the winemakers and in the laboratory, he fell in love with terroir, aromas and flavours of wine. After his experiences in France he spent two years in Napa Valley working for two of California's most renowned Wineries, Swanson Vineyards and Newton Vineyards. In 2016, Benoit joined the French winemaking team from Groupe Taillan and began working in the Okanagan Valley at Osoyoos Larose Vineyards. He saw the high potential of the South Okanagan terroir and the tradition of Bordeaux winemaking techniques to continue to build on the wine’s reputation as a world-class Cru and Canadian Icon.
