The Vancouver Club - Château Montrose

Château Montrose

Bordeaux Wine Dinner

TUESDAY, MAY 9

The most romantic creation story in Bordeaux could arguably be that attached to St-Estèphe second growth Château Montrose. While most 1855 classified properties have a naming formula of ‘important former owner + name of nearby village or landmark’, the name ‘Montrose’ means pink hill and refers to the heather that once covered the land. With the vineyard first planted in 1815, the winery has passed through the hands of four families of owners: Dulouins, Dolfus, and Charmolües, before being purchased by brothers Martin and Olivier Bouygues in 2006. The wines of Montrose are marked by a pursuit of excellence and legendary vintages. As pioneers in the Médoc, the families who have owned the winery have been visionary builders and astute managers, drawing the best out of Saint-Estèphe’s unique terroir.

The evening includes an exclusive selection of Bordeaux wines, paired with a gourmet dinner prepared by Executive Chef Sean Cousins and his talented kitchen team.
