AGE-WELL NCE (Aging Gracefully across Environments using Technology to Support Wellness, Engagement and Long Life), a Canadian Network Centre of Excellence, has explored and implemented a number of strategies for addressing the gap between academic thinking and technology implementation strategies with regard to aging research. Dr. Sylvail Moreno will present work from a group of translational researchers working on implementing and evaluating techniques for supporting innovation. He will explore the innovation ecosystem model as a mechanism that supports researchers to transfer technologies through a transdisciplinary, multi-sector hub of activity: AGE-WELL Innovation Hub initiative.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Sylvain Moreno, PhD, is the Director of the Digital Health Hub and Associate Professor at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at SFU. Dr. Moreno is a specialist in neuroscientific technologies related to digital media, rehabilitation and brain fitness solutions. He has been a member of the New York Academy of Science since 2006 and is the Head of Innovation for the Neurodevnet NCE and part of the AGE-WELL NCE’s innovation team. He has been the recipient of many awards from national and international organizations such as the Early Researcher Award from The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation (2014). His work has received widespread press in various media outlets including the The New York Times and Forbes. He has authored several scientific publications and patents with real-world impacts in clinical and educational environments.
