Dinner with the Winemaker
Entrepreneurial spirit and a belief in the potential of Chilean wine brought together a group of professionals who founded the Montes winery in the late 80's. In addition to positioning Chile as a respected wine producer, Montes has become one of the country’s best exports, backed by superior quality, old world techniques and the innovative genius of winemaker Aurelio Montes Sr. Today, it is his son, Aurelio Jr. who leads the charge.
With a degree in agronomy and a major in winemaking, Aurelio Jr. travelled the world visiting and working at various wineries, from Australia to Napa Valley, before returning to Montes in 2007 as Director of Winemaking on their Apalta estate. His work has extended to the company's Kaiken winery in Argentina, continually upholding the passion and quality upon which Viña Montes was built, while pursuing greener, biodynamic initiatives through their 'dry farming' project. An old world philosophy with new world applications.
Join the charismatic Chilean winemaker, Aurelio Montes Jr. for an exclusive pairing of his family's celebrated Chilean wines, alongside a locally-focused feast showcasing the best of the season - and the rooftop garden! - from Executive Chef Sean Cousins and his team.
