Club Closure & Suspended Services in Response to COVID-19
To our Vancouver Club community,
The Vancouver Club’s Board of Directors and management have been awaiting informed direction from the government and health authorities who are currently calling for increased social distancing and encouraging Canadians to stay home.
Following the most recent government recommendations, and the Board’s united view of protecting our staff, our membership and community, the Board has decided to temporarily close the doors to our Club and suspend services and events, effective immediately, for the next 30 days. Within this period, the Board will be meeting on a regular basis (virtually) to reassess any changes and further recommendations from government as this evolves.
We have been closely monitoring the development of the COVID-19 outbreak and while the risk to Canadians and the general public still remains low, and to our knowledge, no members have been infected, we have chosen to mitigate further risk to our staff and membership community by eliminating any chance of contracting the virus from within the Club.
We thank you for your understanding and continued support during this unprecedented time. This fine club has stood through two world wars, prohibition, the depression, Expo ‘86, and the 2010 Olympics. I am optimistic we will come through this.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Burns Staiano
The Vancouver Club President
