A Message from our President

Dear Vancouver Club community,

As I reflect on this last week, I would like to thank members for their words of kindness and encouragement. It means so much to know we have the support of our Vancouver Club community and that we can find small ways to engage with one another in these unprecedented times. Thank you as well for the overwhelmingly positive response to the Club’s take out and delivery meal programme. We more than quadrupled the number of orders last week and sold out within a matter of hours both this week and last. Our Club’s small team has been busy creating, sanitizing and delivering carefully prepared meals, and your appreciation has been noted.

As mentioned in my last letter, the Club’s management team is in the process of developing more interactive programming. Some members have already participated in a virtual literary group discussion, and an online edition of the Women’s Book Club will be taking place next Tuesday. There is a flurry of brilliant, fun ideas and, while some may require more creativity to execute, we are currently scaling up our take out and delivery meal programme and we look forward to launching fitness classes and beverage tastings in May.

While we develop programming to engage our community, we also recognize the importance of addressing the financial position of our club. Over the last week, your Board of Directors has formed a Finance Crisis Committee. The committee is working in tandem with Club management to secure our short term and long term future. The preservation of our society and our heritage building remains front of mind. Further information will be coming to members in the following weeks.

We are our best together, we are The Vancouver Club.

Stephanie Burns Staiano
The Vancouver Club President
