Friends, Family, Community and Connection.
Dear Vancouver Club community,
This is what comes to mind as we head into the Easter holiday weekend. Now more than ever I am reminded of how important community is to each and every one of us each and every day. Even though we may not be able to be physically close to one another, we have found ways to keep our friendships, family and communities close while apart. This is so very important. On behalf of your Board of Directors, I would like to wish everyone a happy Easter, however you are able, and take a moment to express our gratitude for the compassion and generosity of our Vancouver Club community, our members.
We have received overwhelming support for the Employee Food Care Programme, which continues to pour in, and your generous contributions enable the Club to provide ongoing assistance at this critical phase. The second care package went out this week and, just in time for Easter, includes chocolate eggs and treats for the children of our staff.
For our members, we are continuing to expand upon our take out and delivery service by offering new food and beverage options each week. The response thus far has been tremendous and the Club’s team is working diligently to bring Vancouver Club meals to your kitchen. As we move into May, we will offer interactive programming to further engage our membership community through Zoom and other platforms. More details on these member options will come out shortly.
Your Board continues to meet online each week, closely monitoring the health and safety of our club, forecasting for future months, and also longer-term planning as we return to our new normal. All considerations are with the hope of welcoming members back as soon as we are safely able to do so.
While, at present, we may not be able to share the same physical space, we are all still a piece of and part of The Vancouver Club, we are a multigenerational community that has stood together for more than a 100 years. We are our best together, we are The Vancouver Club.
My very best to you and your families,
Stephanie Burns Staiano
The Vancouver Club President
