Dear Vancouver Club community,
If we can find a silver lining to our current societal disruption, it is gratitude.
We feel it: for the legacy and community of which we are a part of; for opportunities to be creative and connect through alternative member engagement initiatives; for our incredible employees – both those working and those eager to return; for the guidance of our Board and Past Presidents; and, crucially, for the 95% of members who continue to support our club through paid dues.
On behalf of myself and your Board of Directors, I offer our heartfelt thanks. You are making it possible for us to maintain the skeletal operations of the Club, to support our existing team, and to innovate membership programming during the closure. We are working with management toward both short and longer-term plans to see us through the next few fiscal seasons.
Innovation is key. As in April, the month of May will bring new, exciting member initiatives, which you will begin to see next week with the introduction of virtual events. For our fitness community, our lovers of wine and whisky, and other groups within our club, these will be a welcome means of reconnecting with one another.
Finally, I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with you, our membership, on a weekly basis. I am also tremendously grateful for the outpouring of supportive and encouraging feedback that the Board and our club’s management have received; it is truly heartwarming.
On behalf of your Board, we remain committed to you, our staff, and our fine club.
We are our best together. We are The Vancouver Club.
