Throughout this pandemic, the safety of our members, guests and staff has remained our top priority.
Yesterday, with a steady increase in COVID-19 cases in BC, Dr Bonnie Henry announced a new provincial health order affecting the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions. This order, in effect from Saturday, November 7 to Monday, November 23, impacts our social interactions. While this poses challenges as we approach the festive season, we will continue to adhere rigorously to the direction of our health authorities and ensure our operations are in line with provincial requirements, as outlined in our COVID-19 Safety and Operations Plans.
This new order suspends social gatherings of all sizes and affects a number of Club and private events that are scheduled over the next two weeks. We will be reaching out to those impacted members directly to confirm virtual solutions or alternative dates. Our Remembrance Day service will now be offered virtually this year, with further details to come.
Restaurant dining will continue at this time. We encourage members to reserve in our à la carte dining areas: the Bar & Grill, Captain’s Bar & Lounge, and 4th-floor Coworking Space. Given the province’s readiness to keep restaurants operating, so long as they can do so safely, we are optimistic that these services will remain available to members. Please keep in mind, however, that you are now being asked to limit social interactions to those in your immediate household, or for those who live alone or rely on direct family, to your small “pandemic bubble”.
Our health club will remain open, offering a safe environment for members to workout. Additionally, we will continue to keep our fitness centre capacity low and offer fitness classes virtually to ensure physical distancing.
Further, when visiting the Club, we also encourage members to wear masks when not seated or when moving in common areas. This is a courtesy to protect the health of others.
Friday, we shared a message from Vancouver Club President, Christopher Gaze. Touching on the holidays and the special assessment, it was a reminder of the need to support the Club through these challenges and we are thankful for the Club’s support of this initiative. The suspension of social gatherings comes at a time when we are looking to encourage member reengagement and optimism in Club activities and we do not wish to lose sight of that.
We’d like to thank the members for their continued support and compliance with the safety protocols. While the future remains uncertain, we have developed strong COVID-19 Safety and Operations Plans that have thus far helped us navigate these rough waters and keep us all safe. We will continue to monitor the ongoing situation, adjusting our plans and updating members as information becomes available.
Thank you again for your patience and resilience. With care and concern, for you and your families.

The Club continues to provide in-house dining, take-out meals, wines & bottled cocktails from the Enoteca, and other virtual offerings to keep members engaged. While events may be on hold for the next two weeks, we encourage members to reserve now for Christmas events.
