COVID-19 Provincial Health Update & Closure Notice

The COVID-19 pandemic is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of those in our community and responding to provincial health measures as they arise.

MONDAY, MARCH 29, 2021

As with all great progress forward, challenges and setbacks are anticipated. Today’s press conference with Premier John Horgan, Health Minister Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr Bonnie Henry included the announcement of a temporary closure of all indoor dining and group fitness classes in the province, effective midnight tonight until Monday, April 19. In compliance with this latest update to provincial restrictions, the Club will be closing our indoor food & beverage outlets for service from tomorrow until restrictions are eased.

The concierge will personally reach out to everyone with dining reservations in the Bar & Grill and Captain’s Bar who are impacted by the closure, as well as those registered for Movie Nights in the Captain’s Lounge. The 4th Floor Coworking Space will remain open, however, food and beverage service will be paused at this time.

While we had hoped to celebrate Easter in a safely distanced capacity this Sunday, the Easter Sunday Family Brunch must, unfortunately, be cancelled. Take out kits for Easter brunch and dinner are available and we encourage members to take advantage of these alternatives to celebrate with your small core bubble at home.

Virtual events and take out boxes continue to be offered and we invite members to connect via online tastings such as Cocktail Hour and Uncorked! at Home. Personalized private virtual services can also be booked through our catering team. Updates to the member events calendar will be available shortly.

Per provincial restrictions concerning indoor fitness, Group Yoga in the Ballroom will be paused at this time, however, the fitness centre remains open for independent workouts and one-on-one personal training. While members can continue to use the gym, the Club now asks that members wear masks at all times when using the fitness centre, including while using weights and exercise machines. With the arrival of warmer weather, more outdoor fitness activities will be introduced. Stay tuned for information regarding Cycle Club coming soon.

As with all changes to provincial restrictions since the COVID-19 Pandemic began, the Club has diligently followed all health orders and we will continue to address these as they arise. We aim to keep members informed of the impact on our Club and ensure a safe and healthy environment for members, guests and staff.  As further clarification and updates from the province become available, a more formalized announcement from President Christopher Gaze will follow in the coming days.

We understand that these measures are temporary and that an opening up of our province is in sight. As vaccines are rolled out across the province, we can look forward to achieving a safer community environment for all.

With care and concern,
The Vancouver Club
