WHAT IS HAPPENING DURING THE CLUB CLOSURE?
While the Club is closed, we will be using this time to engage a professional service to power wash the exterior and interior of the Club and sanitize all interior surfaces. Ongoing maintenance and repairs will continue. We will also have a combination of staff or security in the Club 24/7 to ensure the security of our Club.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE HAVE MINIMUM FOOD SPEND (MFS) REMAINING?
At this time, remaining minimum food spend balances will be extended to a future date once the Club has reopened.
WILL WE STILL BE CHARGED MEMBERSHIP DUES & FEES?
The Vancouver Club is a member-owned non-profit organization. Membership dues pay for the annual operational expenses and maintenance of the Club, which will continue to be incurred.
As such the following dues and fees will be continued:
• Monthly dues
• Entrance fee instalments
And the following dues and fees will be suspended until further notice:
• Capital Improvement Fee (CIF)
• Minimum food spend
• Gym monthly, suit & shoe locker fees
• Liquor locker fee
• Monthly parking
• Overdue balance interest and charges
• Credit card administration fee for automatic billing
• Paper statement fee
CAN I SUSPEND MY MEMBERSHIP FOR THE DURATION OF THE CLUB CLOSURE?
We hope that members are encouraged to support the Club with the reduced fees noted above. If you have any questions about the status of your membership, please contact Kevin Atherstone or Fred McElroy with Member Services at membership@vancouverclub.ca.
HOW WILL OUR EMPLOYEES BE IMPACTED BY THE CLOSURE?
Our Board and management are doing everything in their power to make sure our employees are taken care of. Many members have come forward to sponsor food care packages for our staff and their families, if you are interested in this please contact our General Manager Mr Philip Ireland directly at pireland@vancouverclub.ca.
WILL THE FITNESS CENTRE OR BARBERSHOP BE OPEN?
To mitigate risk to our members and staff, all facilities are closed at this time, including the fitness centre, fitness studio, and JD’s Barbershop.
CAN I ACCESS ITEMS FROM MY GYM LOCKER?
If you need to access your locker, please contact the concierge to arrange a time and they will provide access to the gym. If you have been out of the country in the last 14 days or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, we ask that you wait before visiting the Club.
I HAVE TICKETS TO THE EXTRAVAGANZA. HAS IT BEEN POSTPONED?
Yes, “Imagine” the Extravaganza has been postponed and tentatively rescheduled for Friday, October 16, 2020. Members are encouraged to hold onto their tickets as they will automatically be transferred to the new date.
I AM RESERVED FOR AN UPCOMING EVENT THIS SPRING. WILL I BE ABLE TO ATTEND?
Club events are being moved to the summer and fall with dates to be announced. The Club will be reaching out to all members individually who are reserved for upcoming Club events.
HAS A REOPEN DATE BEEN ESTABLISHED?
In this unprecedented time, the future is uncertain. We are closely monitoring day-to-day updates and following recommendations by our leading health authorities including the Public Health Agency of Canada and the BC Centres for Disease Control. We will continue to regularly share updates with members by email and on our website vancouverclub.ca
