About Black Tot Rum

On 31st July 1970, the last rum rations were issued aboard the British Royal Navy ships – a day forever known as Black Tot Day.

Black Tot Rum was first created in 2010 by Sukhinder Singh (Elixir Distillers) with Last Consignment - a rare and unique bottling of the Navy Rum flagons from 1970.

Since then, Black Tot Rum have created their own award-winning signature blends, including Black Tot Finest Caribbean and their limited edition Master Blender’s Reserve, which pays homage to Navy blending tradition with an added emphasis on blend transparency.

Black Tot Finest Caribbean & Master Blender’s Reserve 2022 were both awarded ‘Master Awards’ in their respective categories in the Spirits Business Rum & Cachaça Masters 2023.

About Mitch Wilson:

While working at London's world-renowned rum bar, Trailer Happiness, Mitch began his fascination with rum. Over the past 10 years, Mitch’s passion for rum has led to him bartending in some of the world’s best bars while traveling to distilleries around the world to bring back exceptional spirits and stories to share.

In 2020, Mitch Wilson was asked to be the Global Ambassador for Black Tot Rum - which would turn out to be an interesting couple of years for brand ambassadors used to living on the road! Not to be deterred, Mitch hosted over 200 online rum sessions over lockdown, including the Spirits Business Best Online Events for both 2020 (Black Tot Day 24 Hours) & 2021 (The Rum Show Online). Now in 2023, he’s excited to return to the road, sharing his love for rum with people worldwide.
