Meet The Presenters

Rhys Green Co-founder and CEO at Trailblaze Partners

Rhys started his first business at the age of 8, picking oranges from his tree and selling them door to door. Though he tried (and failed) at many small ventures and side hustles (the web development agency that only had 3 clients or the harbour cruise party that made him seasick) he kept going.

Not until he was 26 did he summon the courage to start his first "real business", investing everything he and his wife had into a moving business (You Move Me). They came close to giving up but eventually found the right people, established the right culture and added a healthy dose of brand awareness to turn things around.

​Rhys has co-founded two 7-figure bootstrap ventures and joined one successful invest, advise and exit project. ​At Trailblaze Partners, he and his team provide consulting to some of the biggest companies in Canada (and the world), such as Canfor, Mountain Equipment Co-Op and 1-800-Got-Junk?.

​Having seen the inner workings of some of the world's most acclaimed companies he knows for certain that every business is tough. But it's a little less tough with the right people and culture.

Jerry Gratton CPO & Co-Founder at Trailblaze Partners

Jerry is an entrepreneur, advisor, former People & Culture executive, and self-professed people-aholic. Recognized multiple times as a top HR leader, along with awards for Great Place to Work and Admired Culture, Jerry has over 25 years of experience building high-performing teams across a variety of industries and companies, including Crystal Decisions, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, Aritzia, Mindfield, and O2E Brands.

He has personally owned four businesses and helped countless other owners and leaders realize the benefits of a highly engaged culture. Jerry is a husband, father, home renovator, guitar hack, and generally happy guy.
